Mark T. Sheehan Class of 1976 Scholarship
Vision, Goal and Objectives
The Mark T. Sheehan Class of 1976 Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior of Mark T. Sheehan High School for their demonstrated actions and goals of making a positive difference. It is our objective, through this Scholarship, to encourage these actions by providing monetary assistance with postsecondary education to students who best demonstrated this through an essay and support from educators, administrators, and those in the community.
The goal and objectives we seek are to award a graduating student(s) who has demonstrated and shows continuing promise to further contribute to the overall betterment of the community, society, and humanity through compassion and assistance to others. The Committee considered what attributes in our society are valued and need to be rewarded and encouraged. Our Scholarship will be based neither solely on financial need nor on academic performance although both may be considered. The Mark T. Sheehan Class of 1976 Scholarship is created to honor the contributions of those who have passed without the appropriate acknowledgment of their work during their lives, and to honor current class members who are making our world a better place for our neighbors, our fellow citizens and citizens of the world. We believe through our Scholarship we will encourage and support such work for future generations.
